Dear Borough of Jim Thorpe residents,

Jim Thorpe Borough Council along with the Borough Administration and Police Department teams have developed a program to allow our residents to enjoy the downtown. Starting Monday June 22,2026, all residents will be able to pick up a free parking pass at the police station. Passes will be valid for 2 hours of free parking Monday thru Friday from 9am to 6pm.

Time slots for parking will be printed on the pass. You can sign out the use of the pass for the time slot on the day that you wish to shop, dine or just enjoy the downtown area. Only 2 passes per day will be available for each time slot, Monday thru Friday.

When you sign out a pass, you will provide the make of the car and the plate number so our enforcement team is aware you are using the pass on the day of your choosing. You will then place the pass on the rear-view mirror so enforcement recognizes you are enjoying this benefit. Passes will be set out daily in the police station lobby between Monday and Friday starting at 8:30am. After the pass time expires, you will pay for any additional time you wish to stay and enjoy the downtown experience.

Business of the week

Dear Business community of the Borough of Jim Thorpe,

Jim Thorpe Borough Council along with the Borough Administration and Police Department teams have developed a program to allow our businesses to offer some benefit to their teams and enjoy some recognition. Starting, Monday June 22,2026, a business of the week will be drawn from all businesses within the Borough to be featured on our Borough and PD websites as well social media. This is to help add to the visibility our businesses already enjoy.

Additionally, a week-long complimentary parking pass will be issued to the business of the week. The business may use the pass to benefit their employees or clientele. This benefit may be used to help employees of our businesses with some of the parking challenges. The business parking pass will be delivered by our parking enforcement team weekly.
